Creating a Fire Escape Plan

Disaster planning requirements vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Check with your city or county fire department or building department to determine the requirements in your area.





A fire escape plan needed to be carefully thought through. Analysis of the facility layout, fire detection, fire alarm systems, population assessments, area response methods, etc must be accomplished prior to designing this portion of your master plan.

The fire escape plan itself is a response plan and map of egress and should contain the following:
